Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The journey will let you pass through beautiful sceneries and rolling hills. You will have two stopovers before reaching the park one at the Equator for an informative talk and also to buy some crafts and photographs if interested. Another stopover will be in Mbarara for lunch and some relaxations. From here, you will continue to the magnificent forest with a scenic drive through Kigezi Highlands commonly (referred to as “the Switzerland of Uganda”) you will as well pass through the banana plantations take you to the gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi National Park.
Furthermore, Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda harbouring over 459 of them, more reason why it should be your safari destination and other primate species. You will arrive in the park late evening for relaxation diner and an overnight stay. Bwindi National park is one of Uganda’s oldest rainforests with more than 25000 years.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking safari- Batwa Trail – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Evening Relaxation
On this day after a cup of tea or coffee, the guide will take you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also get allocated to the gorilla group to trek. Bwindi national park host the highest number of these gentle giants in the world almost half of the remaining mountain gorillas live in this park. Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda is a memorable experience one should not love to kiss. Not only gorillas also the park is home to other species like butterflies, plants, primates, mammals, butterflies, and frogs, among others and on the good day, you will see the chimpanzee in the same forest.
The gorilla trekking experience lasts between 1-8 hours however, this depends on the gorilla family assigned to since meeting them depends on where they last spent their last night. Once they are met, you are strictly allowed only one hour with them. You will have your packed lunch with these mystical creatures in the forest. Other optional activity for those who may not go gorilla trekking will go for a short guided forest walk or a Village walk to the Batwa community. The Batwa pygmies of the impenetrable forest who were the original inhabitants of Bwindi impenetrable forest, Mgahinga Gorilla National park, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the Virunga ranges in Congo at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Wake up leisurely for a hearty breakfast while still in the mood of reminiscing about the previous day’s gorilla experiences. After you will be driven to Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake and a birders spot in Africa.
During your transfer to Bunyonyi, you will be enjoying eye-catching landscapes such as the locally terraced interlocking hills where most locals carry out their farming, you will also enjoy the terraced hills named by the British great diplomat Churchill as the ”Switzerland of Africa”. Upon arrival, you could go canoeing on the lake and have lunch. After lunch takes a community walk where you will enjoy traditional dances from the Bakiga people, also buy yourself handicrafts from there. The evening will be reserved for relaxation. If your flight is slated on this day, you will be driven directly to the airport to meet your departure flight back home if not today, you will be driven to your pre-booked accommodation in Entebbe or Kampala. Thus the end of the safari.
