Bwindi Impenetrable Forest ecosystem is exceptionally high in biodiversity, with rich flora and fauna species. However, the park is known as an ancient rain-forest said to have survived the last ice age.
Bwindi is a birding paradise, home to 350 bird species for example purple sun bird, handsome francolin, red headed blue bill, breasted sun bird, regal sun bird, shelley’s crimson among others . The area is especially one of Uganda’s best bird watching destinations supporting nearly all of the Albertine Rift endemic species found in Uganda. Meanwhile, Bwindi is the only park in the whole world where the chimps and gorillas co-exist in the same setting.

Detailed itinerary for 3 days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi impenetrable
You will straightaway be picked from either Entebbe or at Hotel in Kampala by our safari guide/ driver who gets you briefed about the safari. And later drive you to south western part of Uganda to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to giant gorillas. The journey will let you pass via beautiful sceneries and rolling hills. Additionally you will have two stopovers before reaching the park one at the Equator for an informative talks and also to buy some crafts and photograph. Another stopover will be in Mbarara for lunch and relaxation.
Then continue to the magnificent forest with scenic drive through Kigezi Highlands [commonly referred as “the Switzerland of Uganda”] and eventually through the banana plantations arriving at the gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi NP. Day 2: Mountain Gorilla trekking safari-village walk
Firstly, after a cup of tea or coffee, the guide will then take you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas and also get allocated to the gorilla group to trek.
Secondly, Bwindi national park hosts the highest number of these gentle giants in the world almost a half of the remaining mountain gorillas live in this park. Not only gorillas but also the park is a home to other species for example butterflies, plants, primates, mammals, butterflies, frogs, among others.
Lastly, Gorilla trekking experience depends on where they spent their last night from and once they are met you are strictly allowed only one hour with the gorillas. Then enjoy your packed lunch with these mystical creatures. However, just in case some of you are not interested in tracking gorillas, you can certainly go for a short guided forest walk or Village walk to the Batwa community. Later retire at the lodge in order to relax.
